A SCHOOL IN PRAGUE

A completion entry for a school rich with curiosity, imagination and connection to nature.

 

Inhabitable corridors wrap a colourful central courtyard to give natural light, air, and visual connections across the school. The perimeter block form responds sympathetically to
the surrounding context at first, while a series of playful elements provoke curiosity as the building is encountered more closely. Recurring shapes and painted illusions invite an imaginative response, promoting the feeling that each child can interpret and inhabit the building in their own way.
